What is MindGarden?

MindGarden Sri Lanka is a non-profit community and volunteer organisation in Galle, Sri Lanka providing Sri Lankan students with the opportunity to engage in the English language in a fun, exciting and interactive way. We also offer participation in conservation projects, encouraging them to think about preserving the world they live in. Find out more.

Our Projects

Volunteer

We actively seek international volunteers to support the setup, facilitate sessions and bring innovative ideas and the opportunity for intercultural exchange.

1. Teach English

Our English Development programme complements the English syllabus used in the Sri Lankan school curriculum.

2. Hatch Turtles

A hatchery for sea turtles with the aim of protecting the eggs and releasing newborns into the ocean safely.

3. Jungle Reforestation

Our re-plantation programme aims to re-generate the jungle in the Labuduwa, Kottawa and Galle districts of Sri Lanka.

4. River & Beach Cleanup

Assist in our weekly river and beach clean-up which aims to restore the condition of local rivers and beaches.

Learn

In addition to the more formal programmes we offer to our international volunteers, we can also offer you the chance to do the following:

5. Learn Sinhalese

Learn the basics and practice with native Sinhalese speakers. Surprise the locals in Galle town and Fort!

6. Art Workshop

Learn about Sri Lankan traditional art and painting at the best Fine Art Academy in the Southern Province.
